The Adamawa State chapter of the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters (SNB) paid a visit to the Commissioner of the Ministry of Information and Strategy to seek collaboration.

State Chairman of SNB, Comrade Saidu Mohammed, stated that the organization is not new, having been established in 1962 to promote the welfare of broadcasters and ensure professionalism through training and retraining. However, it was dissolved due to political reasons but has now been reintroduced to strengthen the industry.

He emphasized the need to induct new members and called for collaboration with the ministry to organize workshops in the state.

Commissioner Iliya James described the visit as timely, highlighting the crucial role of broadcasters in the current media landscape. He commended SNB’s impact and reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to fostering a strong partnership that will advance the society’s goals.

He also welcomed constructive criticism and urged the society to remain steadfast in its mission of accurate reportage and effective information dissemination. Additionally, he assured the government’s readiness to support the welfare of media professionals to boost their morale and efficiency.
