Four suspected armed robbers reportedly trailed a commuter from a bank in Yola to the Adamawa Sunshine Motor Park in Jambutu, where they stole approximately ₦9 million in cash.
According to sources, the victim had withdrawn the money for transportation to Ganye Local Government Area. Before setting out, he stopped at a mechanic’s garage within the motor park to service his vehicle—unaware that he was being followed.
The suspects allegedly attacked him at the garage, stealing both his money and that of the mechanics present. Eyewitnesses said a group of youths attempted to lock the park gate to prevent the robbers from escaping, but the suspects fired gunshots into the air to disperse the crowd and fled the scene.
No casualties were reported in the incident.
Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, for official comment were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
