Numan Main Town in Numan Local Government Area of Adamawa State was filled with grief and solemn reflection as a sea of mourners gathered to pay their final respects to the late Mrs. Mercy Kennedy Dauda. The atmosphere was heavy with tears, prayers and heartfelt tributes as family, friends and well-wishers came together to honour a life many described as beautiful, impactful and selfless.

From the laying-in-state to the funeral service, emotions flowed freely as glowing eulogies were delivered, celebrating the virtues, achievements and legacies of the deceased. Those who spoke recalled Mrs. Dauda as a woman of strength and compassion, whose life touched many within her family, workplace and the wider community.
Family members, colleagues, associates, as well as various groups and organisations, in their condolence messages, described the late Mrs. Dauda as hardworking, jovial and deeply dedicated to her responsibilities. Many noted her rare ability to combine diligence with kindness, always placing the needs of others above her own.
The Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, who commiserated with the husband of the deceased, Chief Kennedy Dauda, and the entire family, described Mrs. Dauda as a devoted wife and mother who placed family first. She noted that despite her many responsibilities, the late Mrs. Dauda never relented in the discharge of her duties and remained committed to service until her passing.

Delivering the sermon, the Chaplain of the Government House Chapel, Venerable Habila Tula, reminded the congregation of the inevitability of death. Quoting from the Holy Bible, he emphasized that death is a reality no human being can escape, regardless of status, influence or affluence. He urged everyone present to live purposeful lives anchored on faith, love and service to humanity.

As Mrs. Mercy Kennedy Dauda was finally laid to rest, tears flowed, but so did praises for a life well lived. Though her departure has left a deep void in the hearts of her loved ones, many found comfort in the enduring memories and legacies she leaves behind. Her compassion, dedication and gentle spirit will continue to speak long after the tears have dried.
