Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away on Sunday in London. In a condolence message, the Governor extended heartfelt sympathies to the Government and people of Nigeria, and to the bereaved Buhari family.
Governor Fintiri described the late President as a towering figure in Nigeria’s history whose leadership; both as a military head of state and a democratically elected president, shaped the trajectory of the nation.
“His steadfast commitment to Nigeria’s unity and development, especially during turbulent times like the civil war, is a testament to his enduring patriotism and statesmanship,” the Governor said.
He praised President Buhari’s legacy in advancing infrastructure, agriculture, and national security, noting that his efforts to strengthen democracy and promote stability will be remembered for generations.
In a special tribute, Governor Fintiri extended his condolences to Her Excellency Aisha Buhari, wife of the late President and a proud daughter of Adamawa State. He encouraged her to find strength in faith and the overwhelming support of Nigerians who share in her grief.
“May Allah (SWT) grant President Muhammadu Buhari Aljannatul Firdaus, and may his life of service continue to inspire generations to come,” Governor Fintiri prayed. “May God comfort his family, loved ones, and the entire nation at this moment of profound loss.”
