Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has boldly called for a reshaping of Nigeria’s political landscape, urging widespread support for a new movement aimed at unseating President Bola Tinubu and his All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections. Atiku, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in 2023, was narrowly defeated by Tinubu of the APC.
At an event held in his honor in Yola, Adamawa State, Atiku challenged the status quo, calling for unity among Nigerians to restore the country’s path to progress. “The political system has failed us,” he said. “Now is the time to unite and take action to correct the course of our nation. We need a change that brings us back to the values of accountability, transparency, and service to the people.”
Atiku criticized the current administration for its failures in governance, security, and economic management, pointing to policies that, in his view, have only deepened Nigeria’s challenges. Atiku also commended Senator Elisha Ishaku Abbo for organizing the event and highlighted his dedication to the cause. He called on Abbo and other political leaders to continue such efforts, believing that they will be crucial in building momentum for the movement leading up to 2027.
Senator Abbo, speaking earlier in the event, reaffirmed the group’s unwavering loyalty to Atiku, pledging their full commitment to his vision for Nigeria.
