Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to the development of Adamawa State and the welfare of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the state.
The Governor restated this when he received a delegation of corps members at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Yola, on Wednesday.
He thanked the corps members for their show of appreciation and for their active contributions to host communities. Governor Fintiri encouraged them to integrate freely with the people and embrace unity, assuring them of continuous government efforts to ensure peace, security, and harmony across the state.
Highlighting future plans, the Governor disclosed that his administration is concluding arrangements to build a brand-new NYSC camp to offer a safer and more conducive environment for corps members. He reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing their welfare and urged them to make the most of their service year.
Speaking earlier, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Caroline Ayodele, said the visit was to express gratitude for the Fintiri-led administration’s consistent support. She praised the government’s efforts in improving roads, enhancing security, upgrading camp facilities, providing water, and increasing corps members’ allowances.
She also pledged the NYSC’s continued partnership with the state government to drive impactful community development projects in education, healthcare, agriculture, and vocational training.
The event featured traditional dances, poetry recitations, and gift presentations, adding vibrancy and cultural flavour to the occasion.
