Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Lamurde Local Government Area with immediate effect, following recent violent attacks and a breakdown of law and order in parts of the area.
Governor Fintiri described the disturbances as “unacceptable” and directed security agencies to strictly enforce the curfew. He warned that anyone found violating the order would face arrest and prosecution in accordance with the law.
“The Government will not tolerate acts of violence. We are taking all necessary steps to restore peace and stability,” the Governor said.
The curfew takes effect immediately and will remain in place until further notice. Residents are advised to comply fully, remain indoors, and cooperate with security personnel working to maintain peace.
The Governor also urged the public to refrain from spreading false information and to report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.
“Our priority remains the protection of lives and property. Government is committed to the safety and well-being of every citizen,” he added.
