The Adamawa State Government has pledged to ensure the consistent availability of essential health commodities across healthcare facilities while also enhancing the capacity of healthcare personnel to improve service delivery.

This assurance was given by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Mr. Mathias Zira, during a courtesy visit by the Adamawa State TCI Media Advocacy Group in commemoration of Safe Motherhood Day.

Mr. Zira acknowledged the ongoing challenges in maternal and child healthcare, particularly the shortage of family planning commodities and the lack of adequately trained personnel. These gaps, he noted, continue to hinder the effective delivery of care to mothers and children in the state.

He emphasized that addressing these issues is crucial to tackling the maternal health crisis in Adamawa and across the nation. “Ensuring the availability of commodities and building the capacity of our health workers are fundamental steps toward achieving better outcomes in maternal and child health,” Zira stated.

The Permanent Secretary also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to collaborating with relevant stakeholders, including the TCI Media Advocacy Group, to drive progress and achieve lasting improvements in maternal healthcare.
