The Chairman of Shelleng Local Government Council, Hon. Abubakar Musa Abba, has urged the newly inaugurated executives of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at both the local government and ward levels to prioritize unity and collective action as the party prepares ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Hon. Abba made the call during the PDP Local Government Inauguration Ceremony held at the ADSUBEB Hall in Shelleng, where he congratulated the new executives and charged them to see their appointments as a call to service and commitment to the party’s progress.

He noted that the primary purpose of their election was to strengthen unity, love, and cooperation among PDP members across the local government and wards. According to him, the harmony of the party structure at all levels would be key to achieving victory not only in Shelleng but across Adamawa State and the nation at large.

“This new leadership must work in one spirit. Everyone has a role to play, and we must respect each other’s responsibilities to avoid unnecessary conflicts,” Abba said. “Let’s shun hatred, gossip, and divisive politics. Our goal should be the success of the PDP in 2027.”

Also speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Mineral Resources, Hon. Haruna Ibrahim Kanah, emphasized the need for teamwork and discipline among the new executives. He stressed that the PDP’s success in the forthcoming elections would largely depend on their ability to attract new members and strengthen the party’s grassroots base.

“If you work together in peace and harmony, the results will speak for themselves,” Kanah said. “Winning starts from the local government, and Shelleng must lead by example. Let’s make PDP a party of the people, free from bitterness and division.”

Representing the State PDP Chairman, Hon. Hamza Bello Madagali, Madam Mary Javan commended the new executives and urged them to redouble their efforts in making Shelleng a stronghold of the PDP by 2027. She advised them to work strictly in line with the party’s constitution and avoid acts that could betray the confidence of members at both the local and state levels.

“You must remain loyal, transparent, and accountable,” she said. “Your commitment will determine the strength of our party as we move toward 2027.”

In his goodwill message, the former Chairman of Shelleng Local Government, Hon. Yawale, praised the developmental strides of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, noting that the governor’s achievements across the state were clear demonstrations of good governance. He urged the people of Shelleng to continue supporting the administration for more democratic dividends.

The event was attended by party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters from across the local government, who reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that the PDP maintains its dominance in the area ahead of the 2027 elections.
