Senator Abubakar Ahmad Moallayidi, who represented Adamawa South in the 8th Senate (2015–2019), remains a formidable force in the All Progressives Congress (APC), both within Adamawa State and nationally.

Renowned for his unwavering loyalty and sharp political acumen, Moallayidi has been instrumental in sustaining the APC’s cohesion and relevance in Adamawa, while actively laying the groundwork for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s projected landslide re-election in 2027.

Since the APC’s inception in 2014, Moallayidi has been a steadfast contributor to its growth. As senator, representing nine LGAs including Ganye, Mayo-Belwa, and Numan, he emerged as a grassroots mobilizer and a staunch advocate of party principles. His tenure in the National Assembly was marked by impactful legislation and empowerment programs that won him enduring respect—particularly for his efforts in job creation and youth and women empowerment.

Moallayidi’s influence was pivotal in President Muhammadu Buhari’s 2019 re-election. His strategic groundwork across the North-East, especially in Adamawa, helped stabilize the APC amid internal rifts and high-profile defections. That momentum continued in 2023, when he played a crucial role in mobilizing support for Tinubu, collaborating with figures like Mallam Nuhu Ribadu to secure APC victories in key battlegrounds.

His dedication to Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda has been described by allies as a long-cherished ambition realized. Today, Moallayidi stands as a party elder, tirelessly rallying support for Tinubu’s second term bid. He remains a unifier in a fragmented political landscape, engaging APC loyalists and opposition sympathizers alike in pursuit of a more cohesive party.

“Recognizing Senator Moallayidi’s contributions would give the APC a vital edge ahead of 2027,” said Aso James, a party loyalist in Yola, echoing popular sentiment across Adamawa.

Beyond his senatorial work, Moallayidi’s leadership extends to key administrative roles. As Chairman of the 2015/2016 FCT Area Council election committee, he delivered record-setting results. Later, as Managing Director of ICC and Eagle Square, he significantly increased government revenue—demonstrating both integrity and competence.

Though he lost his 2019 re-election—amid internal APC friction and ethno-religious complexities in the Christian-majority southern district—Moallayidi’s political relevance has only grown. Analysts argue that his absence from Tinubu’s ministerial list is a missed opportunity, considering his proven capability and loyalty.

As 2027 approaches, Moallayidi is intensifying efforts to consolidate party unity and broaden the APC’s appeal. His vision of a stronger, more inclusive party resonates deeply among party faithful. “Senator Moallayidi is a political giant,” said a party chieftain in Ganye. “His tireless efforts will be key to delivering a landslide for Tinubu.”

In an era of shifting loyalties, Senator Abubakar Moallayidi stands out—a symbol of consistency, strategy, and service. His enduring legacy as a unifier and strategist positions him as a cornerstone of the APC’s future, not just in Adamawa, but in Nigeria’s national political equation.
