Peace Audu Sworn In as Chairperson of Fufore LGA

In a historic development, Peace Audu has officially been sworn in as the Chairperson of Fufore Local Government Area, marking the second time a woman has assumed leadership of the council over three decades ago.

The first was Zainab Ahmadu Ribadu, a sister to the current National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.

Audu’s appointment follows the unfortunate passing of the former chairman, Shuaibu Babas. However, the delay in her swearing-in ceremony sparked widespread concern and criticism from community members and critiques of the Ahmadu Umaru-led administration, who questioned the hold-up despite her being the rightful successor.

With her inauguration now complete, many see her leadership as a significant step toward greater gender representation in local governance.
