The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, is set to inaugurate the state-of-the-art Police Headquarters complex in Yola, Adamawa, on Thursday.

This announcement was made in a statement on Wednesday by SP Suleiman Nguroje, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Adamawa Command.

In anticipation of the event, the state Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, has advised officers deployed for the occasion to maintain professionalism and be approachable to the public.

The PPRO quoted Dankombo as emphasizing the importance of creating a conducive atmosphere for the peaceful conduct of the inauguration ceremony.

To this end, the Commissioner has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in charge of Operations, along with Area Commanders from Yola and Karewa, to oversee security deployment at key locations where the IGP and other dignitaries will be present.

Additionally, the Commanding Officer of the 14 Police Mobile Force will lead armed personnel drawn from various tactical units, including the Special Protection Unit and Counter-Terrorism Unit, to secure all entry and exit points.

Traffic management will be handled by officers from the Central Motor Traffic Division (CMTD) to ensure smooth flow of traffic during the event.

The Anti-Bomb Squad and Crowd Control Unit have also been deployed to screen and secure the venue, ensuring there are no security threats and addressing any emergency situations.

The police command urges the public to cooperate with the security arrangements and report any suspicious individuals to the authorities.
