Fake VIO Arrested for Impersonation and Job Scam in Yola

On April 22, 2025, operatives from the State Intelligence Department (SID) of the Command apprehended a woman identified as Face Samuel, a resident of Army Barracks Road in Yola North Local Government Area, following credible intelligence.

According to a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, the suspect had repeatedly impersonated a Vehicle Inspection Officer (VIO) and defrauded several individuals — Blessing Kefas, Abel Samuel, Evlyne Amos, and Friday Adamu — of a total of ₦350,000. She allegedly promised to secure them employment with the Vehicle Inspection Office under the Adamawa State Ministry of Transportation.

The suspect confessed to the crime and revealed that the VIO uniform she used was provided by an as-yet unidentified individual.
