Senator Garba Musa Maidoki, representing Kebbi South Senatorial District, has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing growing internal opposition and unresolved crises within the party.
Maidoki announced his resignation in a letter dated May 14, 2026, addressed to the APC Ward Chairman in Rafin Zuru Ward, Zuru Local Government Area.
The development comes just days before the APC senatorial primary election scheduled for Monday, fueling fresh political tension within the party in Kebbi State.
In the letter, the lawmaker said persistent internal challenges and opposition within the party had made it increasingly difficult for him to pursue his political ambitions under the APC platform.
Despite his exit, Maidoki expressed gratitude to the party for the opportunity to serve the people of Kebbi South under its banner.
Senator Maidoki currently serves as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Legislative Compliance and also holds the position of Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Information and National Orientation.
His resignation is expected to reshape the political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections in Kebbi State, especially within the APC, where internal disagreements have continued to spark concerns among party loyalists and supporters.
