Benue State governor Hyacinth Alia has appointed Nigerian music icon Innocent “Tuface” Idibia as his Technical Adviser for Entertainment and Community Outreach.
In a video released Wednesday, Governor Alia thanked the Afrobeats star for his past support and said the new role would let Idibia “help us chart a way forward, improve lives, and share his wisdom.”
“We’re adding fresh responsibility to the good work you already do,” the governor said. “Your capacity and experience will guide us in expanding opportunities for our people.”
Widely hailed as one of Afrobeats’ most influential pioneers, Tuface rose to prominence in the early 2000s and remains a marquee figure in Nigerian pop culture.
