The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State has confirmed the registration and membership of Abba Atiku Abubakar, son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.
Abba Atiku was formally received by state party officials at the APC Secretariat in Yola, where he completed his registration and pledged his full loyalty to the party.
Speaking during a courtesy visit, Abba Atiku expressed his commitment to supporting the Bola Ahmed Tinubu–led administration, declaring his readiness to back the president’s second-term bid. He noted that his decision was driven by the desire to contribute to national development and strengthen progressive governance.
APC leaders in the state welcomed his defection, describing it as a significant boost to the party, and assured him of unity and cooperation in advancing the party’s objectives in Adamawa State.
During an interview with journalists, the younger Atiku also said his defection from the PDP to the APC is a personal decision that does not affect his relationship with his father.
