Police Launch Investigation Into Alleged Suicide at Nigerian Law School, Yola Campus

The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed an unfortunate incident involving a 27-year-old student of the Nigerian Law School, Yola Campus, identified as Ojajuni Ayo, an indigene of Ondo State.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the Command received a distress report from the institution’s Chief Security Officer on 7 December 2025, detailing what transpired the previous day.

On 6 December 2025, at about 11:30 a.m., the student, Ojajuni Ayomiposi, was said to have returned to the school premises in a tricycle. Witnesses reported that he appeared visibly weak and staggered before jumping over the fence into the hostel area. A security guard who later went to check on him found him vomiting and unconscious.

He was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was admitted for emergency care but was confirmed dead shortly after.

Police authorities stated that the body has been deposited at the hospital mortuary for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, has directed a discreet and thorough investigation to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the student’s death. The Command assured the public that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure transparency and accuracy in the investigation.
